Parent and Teacher Institute The Parent and Teacher Institute is held
each fall on the TU campus at the Allen Chapman Activity Center (ACAC).
The institute features parenting experts who provide presentations and
informative sessions for parents, teachers, and students. Some of
our past presenters have included such nationally renowned experts as
Sylvia Rimm, Jim Fay, Daniel Weinberger, and Jason Dorsey.
Drama Festival Each year in February or March, students from regional schools present original plays at the Drama Festival sponsored by the University School. The plays are usually a class or small group project in which the students conduct the research, write and produce the plays under the guidance of their teacher. The Drama Festival is an excellent vehicle for students' creativity and has wide appeal to teachers, students and parents. We invite parents, relatives and friends to come see the creativity in action.
Renaissance Fair (a.k.a. Creative Producers' Convention) One day in May each year, students and adults from the Tulsa region have the opportunity to exhibit their creative products at the spring Creative Producers' Convention sponsored by the University School. This has been a successful way to provide students with an authentic audience for their creations! Teachers encourage students to do in-depth research in an area of interest and create related products to share with other students and adults from around the region. Its purpose is to spur creative products and in-depth studies that can be shared with an audience. |
